Senior Management

Mark Pope P.E. Owner and President

Mark joined Walsh in 2007 and has served as a mechanical engineer and engineering manager. He became the company’s second president in 2016. When not in the office, he enjoys piloting his small plane, snow-machining, and spending time with his grandkids.

Mark Varvel P.E. Senior Vice-President

As Vice-President over projects, Mark is a master of multi-tasking, and can keep tabs on a hundred projects with just his phone and active mind. When not in the office, he enjoys trail running and has completed many long distance races up to 50k’s.

Joe Mitchell P.E. Vice-President

In 2009, while running a non-profit, Joe came to work for Walsh, as he put it, “part-time on a three week project”, and never left. When not in the office, he enjoys wilderness trips, growing his own food, and reading books about engineering projects.
